Introducing the founder of Escutcheon Records and Music. Basic c.v. and highlights of a career spanning 4 decades.
As a bassist, Arthur toured England & Germany several times over the course of 6 years with a club band called Sketch (1967) which still exists today (2009) . Playing a Danelectro 5 string bass, he worked as a bassist solidly, one nighters, tours, residencies - (at least 12 {monthly}) + deps and sessions.
When work dried up, he reverted to songwriting, and added an acoustic guitar to his inventory, having bought a Rickenbacker Stereo Bass in 1973.
He built Tonehenge over the course of the next 2 years, comprised of 2 cabinets containing 2 x 15" Altec 421/8H bass speakers and an amplifier built by a student from Oxford. An MM 12 channel mixer made it possible to use the rig as a P.A. In 1979, Arthur found a great Les Paul Custom. Throughout the 1980s, when life was traumatic, he composed up to 150 instrumental pieces of music. By the 1990s he rediscovered some old lyrics and reworked them into songs, some of which were recorded - multi-tracking. Today, there are 180 song, 150 instrumentals, 4 larger works and a symphonic proffering. A more comprehensive mini-biography can be found on
