  • Vihuela Society. (Spain)

    27/02/11 The Vihuela Society in Madrid concerns Music and Instruments from the Renaissance era with the Vihuela being the main idea. A guitar shaped stringed instrument, the Vihuela caters for Lute style Tablature. I shall endeavor to post a photo of a Vihuela here.

    Since the Secretary of the Lute Society is also the Secretary of the FoMRHI we have a very convenient link and you may notice a new page devoted to Historical Musical Instruments. Highly technical research resulting in highly technical reports and papers on findings are contributed by members to the Secretary for inclusion in a quarterly magazine.

The Big Bass Banjo:

 Depicted above is a brand new bass banjo that is on display for sale @ Hickies music Shop in Friar Street, Reading, Berkshire. England. These are made in Whitstable, Kent. (More info to come). There is now another bass Banjo in Hickies store!!! There is now another beautiful specimen on display in the shop.
